Liguria’s inland

Loano has much to offer from the environmental point of view as well. In contrast to the prominent role of its beaches, coastline, and underwater environment, hillside landscapes have still to be discovered. The typical terraced hillsides of Liguria give way to denser vegetation, where numerous trekking routes allow the discovery of unspoiled vistas of Liguria’s inland areas.

The panoramic view of Loano from the surrounding hillsides is not to be missed: worthy of note is the Santuario dei SS. Cosma and Damiano (sanctuary found along the road between Pietra Ligure and Loano), which is a perfect window from which to enjoy the panoramic view below.

In addition, leaving from Verzi, one of the boroughs of Loano, it is possible to reach the top of Mount Carmo, one of the highest mountains in the Province of Savona, from which a spectacular view can be enjoyed.

Every year, the CAI (Italian Climbing Club) of Loano organizes many activities and excursions for all those nature lovers who are looking forward to discovering the beauty of Liguria’s landscapes.
