Also this year in Loano, in the Giardino del Principe, takes place the Dreams Festival, a series of theatrical events with great actors and comedians from the contemporary Italian scene. This edition, now in its third consecutive year, is promoted and supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Municipality of Loano with the patronage of the Liguria Region; the events are curated by Dimensione Eventi with the collaboration of Ivan Fabio Perna, who is in charge of the art direction, and with the Dreams Cultural Association.
Let’s see the rich calendar of appointments.
Shows and scheduled meetings
The third edition of the Dreams Festival started last Saturday 13 July with the great Gene Gnocchi; Thursday 18 July was then the turn of the Calabrian comedian Franco Neri.
On Friday 2 August there will be the show by Franco Tesei, known by the general public thanks to his TV series aired on Sky, “Il Mentalista”, of which he is the author and protagonist.
Saturday, August 3, we laugh again in the company of the couple formed by Andrea Roncato and Gigi Sammarchi who will make their best comic duets.
A truly special guest is expected on Sunday 4 August, namely Michele Placido, who will give life to the show “Evening of Honor”: a set of monologues, poems and verses by Dante, Neruda, D’annunzio, Montale and other great Neapolitan writers like Eduardo De Filippo, Salvatore Di Giacomo, Raffaele Viviani.
Monday 5 August will be an evening dedicated to traditional Argentine dance, tango. The famous Argentine dancer Guillermo Alan Berzins in the company of seven other dancers from TangoCompany will dance to the rhythm of the music played by the Corazon de Tango orchestra. A journey through the history of this dance, so passionate and visceral, to immerse yourself in a unique atmosphere.
On Wednesday 7 August the show by Giuseppe Cacioppo “I threw the first stone” is staged. The Sicilian comedian has become famous thanks to television programs such as Zelig and Colorado where he performed with short but hilarious sketches that ironize about contemporary man, his life and the paradoxical situations we face every day, especially after the advent of social networks.
It continues Thursday 8 August with another great actor of Italian cinema, Giancarlo Giannini, who will stage an unpublished show that blends poetry with music, words with rhythm. Accompanied by the unpublished pieces of the Neapolitan saxophonist Marco Zurzolo with his quartet, Giannini will recite verses by Neruda, Garcia Lorca, Marquez, and again Shakespeare, Angiolieri, Salinas. The theme that unites the chosen poems is undoubtedly love, passion, women and life.
Friday 9 August will be the turn of Luca Barbarossa, musician who made his debut in the mid-70s, and then won the Festival delle Voci Nuove of Castrocaro in 1980 and trod the stage of the Ariston the following year with a song he left the sign: “Rome stripped”. He does not lack the skills of comedian, presenter and great entertainer.
Saturday 10 August there is a concert by one of the most famous independent Italian music bands on the contemporary scene: the Subsonica, as we had anticipated in an article published weeks ago in which we talked about the summer concerts scheduled in Liguria.
It closes Wednesday, August 14 with Red Canzian, singer and bassist of Pooh, now engaged in a solo project, his new album “Witness of time”, which is the summa of the music that has characterized his entire life. Included are songs by Pooh reinterpreted independently and unpublished.
All shows will begin at 9.30pm at the Giardino del Principe.
