It will be a pleasure to host your dog (small/medium size maximum 15 kg) allowing you to spend a pleasant holiday in our Village. An extra cost between € 8 and € 10 will be applied per night (without meals)
For us animal lovers, going on holiday with our “four-legged” companion it’s an exciting adventure, a pleasant and enriching experience, although sometimes it can be surprising. To lessen the mishap chances, we’ll share some advices with you, hoping to know and better understand the needs of our pet friends and to let them live a relaxing holiday with us!
Dogs must always be kept on a leash. Letting them dump in the internal gardens is strictly forbidden. They are not allowed to enter the restaurant room according to hygienic regulations. If left alone in the room or apartment, their owner must always be on call, so that he might be warned in case of loud and prolonged barking.
We remind you that dogs are not allowed inside private beaches.
Journey tips
Before leaving
A quick check with the Vet: it’s advised to bring your pet to the veterinary at least two weeks before the departure, having a look at the health status of your friend. Tell the doctor about your destination, he’ll be able to suggest possible precautionary treatments if needed.
Clinical record: ensure that the vaccination plan is in order.
Dogplate: make sure that the dogtag it’s up to standard and contains a visible telephone number to let you be called back in case of loss.
Last meal: get your dog a meal 8 hours before leaving in order to avoid inconveniences during the trip.
Kennel: if your friend is travelling in a pet carrier, leave a familiar blanket with it. This will surely help it to relax.
Anticipate surprises: contact us to know if your friend is gladly accepted or not. Travelling with a pet is not always a easy task as in most beaches, restaurants, parks, etc. its presence is not allowed.
Suitcase
Clinical record: always necessary to any eventuality.
Household objects: toys, blankets and any familiar object that will let your dog feel peaceful.
Food: do not change the habits of your friend, before leaving get the usual food it eats everyday, obviously in the right amount to last for the entire stay.
Feeding bowls: take some into the suitcase, close at hand, for its food and water, they will be useful for the travel and once arrived at the chosen destination.
Meds: it’s a good idea to keep a First Aid Kit for your pet in addition to the other medicines it needs. Do not forget the costumary pesticide!
Leash and muzzle: it’s often advisable to use both of them.
Waste bags: do not forget what’s needed to look after your dog. Always clean up!
Water canteen: it’s as handy during the travel as during the strolls, expecially if the weather is often hot and sunny.
Brush and shampoo: it’s good to keep your pet’s fur clean also during holidays.
Cat litter and scratcher: if you’re travelling with a cat.
The journey
Before leaving for a long trip, get your pet used to moving with you gradually.
Keep always food and water at reach for your friend.
If travelling by car, never lock your pet in your car, the internal temperature might reach 70° Celsius even if windows are partially open.
Apply sun shades to the windows to let your friend rest in the shadow while travelling.
Dogs travelling by car have to stretch their legs at least every two hours, plan frequent stop if needed.
You can appease your cat with a pheromone spray that you can directly apply to the pet carrier, check with your veterinary first, even regarding dog related sprays.
Do not let your dog’s head out of the window while travelling, he could get cold and risk earache and otitis.
If travelling by train avoid crowded carriages, otherwise your friend might become nervous.
If travelling by train or plane cover your pet carriage with a blanket to reduce the anxiety due to external sources at minimum.
Civil libability (Italian laws)
Art. 2052 del codice civile : “il proprietario di un animale è responsabile dei danni cagionati dall’animale stesso, sia che si trovi sotto la sua custodia sia che venga smarrito o fugga, salvo che provi il caso fortuito”. Inoltre l’ordinanza del Ministro Martini del 3 marzo 2009 dice che “il proprietario di un cane e’ sempre responsabile del benessere, del controllo e della conduzione dell’animale e risponde, sia civilmente che penalmente, dei danni o lesioni a persone, animali e cose provocati dall’animale stesso.
Chiunque, a qualsiasi titolo, accetti di detenere un cane non di sua proprietà ne assume la responsabilità per il relativo periodo.
Ai fini della prevenzione dei danni o lesioni a persone, animali o cose il proprietario e il detentore di un cane devono adottare le seguenti misure:
a) utilizzare sempre il guinzaglio ad una misura non superiore a mt 1,50 durante la conduzione dell’animale nelle aree urbane e nei luoghi aperti al pubblico, fatte salve le aree per cani individuate dai comuni;
b) portare con se’ una museruola, rigida o morbida, da applicare al cane in caso di rischio per l’incolumità di persone o animali o su richiesta delle Autorità competenti;
c) affidare il cane a persone in grado di gestirlo correttamente;
d) acquisire un cane assumendo informazioni sulle sue caratteristiche fisiche ed etologiche nonchè sulle norme in vigore;
e) assicurare che il cane abbia un comportamento adeguato alle specifiche esigenze di convivenza con persone e animali rispetto al contesto in cui vive”.
Da questo risulta importante la stipula di una assicurazione per la copertura della responsabilità civile verso terzi per i danni che i nostri beniamini possono causare anche in vacanza.
LUOGHI PUBBLICI: La legge nazionale vieta l’ingresso di animali nei negozi di alimentari. E’ invece a discrezione del proprietario concedere l’accesso agli animali nei bar, ristoranti e altri luoghi pubblici salvo regolamenti comunali o regionali specifici. L’ordinanza del Ministero della Salute del 3 marzo 2009, impone che i cani debbano portare guinzaglio e museruola nei luoghi pubblici. Ed entrambi gli strumenti se il cane è condotto in locali pubblici o su un mezzo di trasporto.
GUINZAGLIO E MUSERUOLA: Il Regolamento di Polizia Veterinaria (D.P.R. 08 febbraio 1954, nr. 320) e l’ordinanza del Ministero della Salute del 3 marzo 2009, impone di utilizzare sempre il guinzaglio ad una misura non superiore a mt 1,50 durante la conduzione dell’animale nelle aree urbane e nei luoghi aperti al pubblico, fatte salve le aree per cani individuate dai comuni. Inoltre è obbligatorio portare con sè una museruola, rigida o morbida, da applicare al cane in caso di rischio per l’incolumità di persone o animali o su richiesta delle Autorità competenti.
NON DISTURBARE: L’art. 659 del codice penale prevede sanzioni per coloro i quali disturbino le occupazioni nonché il riposo delle persone “suscitando o non impedendo strepiti di animali”. Da non dimenticare anche in vacanza.
